What Causes Pain And Swelling In Leg When Suffering From Carcinoid Syndrome?

My husband had a carcinoid tumor removed on July 5 from the small bowel. Prior to this, he had painful, swollen, red legs and diffuculty walking. In searching for the answer to this problem, the tumor in the small intestine was seen on a ct and he had a small bowel follow thru done before surgery. He has been diagnosed with carcinoid syndrome. He has no strength in his legs and is chilling frequently with no temperature. He is 62, 6 foot one inch tall and weighs 211, down about 20 lbs. M.T.W he is scheduled for a octreotide (?) scan. Are the legs related to the carcinoid syndrome?
