Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am an 81 year old male having leg pain below the knees. The left achillis tendon and the right knee pain makes it very difficult to walk and do normal house hold chores. If I do anything it gets worse. Also I continue to have rectal bleeding. I have been taking Humira since November 2016. Leg problem stated approimatly 2 months ago. Bowel movements are erratic and offen. My E-Mail address is YYYY@YYYY Thank You
If the cause of the rectal bleeding has been established then you can continue to monitor it but if the cause is not known then you should have a colonoscopy done to take a look at the colon.
Humira does not usually affect bowel action though persons respond differently to medication.
In addition to the humira, you may need pain medication and physiotherapy to see if this would help the pain that you are experiencing. The pain medication used would have to take into account the bleeding.
I hope this helps
