What Causes Pain In Hip Joint?

I am a 35 yr old black female that has had a leg/hip problem for a long time, probably for over a year. I have had MRI and cat scans done searching for hernias and gallstones. I dont seem to have neither and they dont know what it could be. I have had this feeling before when i was pregnant 17 yrs ago in the same spot. I cannot be pregnant and am not. I was told then that it was a pinched nerve. IT is where my leg meets with my hip, where when you bend your leg at the hip.I have the most pain when i have been sitting for periods of at least 10 minutes at a time, when i get up it locks up and i need assistance in walking for about 100 steps and it works itself out where the pain is less but sometimes doesnt go away. I dont know if this is a result of an injuey, but i did break my leg in 2003 in 5 places and that has caused health issues as far as my limping and such. I have tried ibuprofe, naproxen and more for pain meds and nothing seems to lessen the pain. I want to know what this is.
