What Causes Pain In Left Collar Bone?

In recent weeks, say 2-4, I have been experiencing pain in my left collarbone, accompanied by it feeling hot inside (is the best way I can describe it). I have degenerative discs in my C5,C6,C7 areas and have been diagnosed with arthritis, although this hasn't bothered me much lately. What could be causing this and do I need to visit my doctor for more of a consult?
