What Causes Painful Finger Movements After An Injury?

I had my pinky yanked by my friend, not sure how really, but something poped (it might have just been the joint, like cracking a knuckle) but since then (3 days ago) its been swollen with no decrease. I can move it full range of motion, the joint was painful to the touch the first two days, it seems better now. Hoever when ever i put it in a spint and leave it immobilized for a while it hurts more to bend it, like a lot. Lastly twisting it, manually, or pushing the knuckles sideways hurts too, it never used to. Any ideas?
