What Causes Random Weight Loss In Females?

Hi, i am a 23 year old female.... scince i was 13 i have always weighed around 135 pounds and stood 5'1- 5'2 in the past year i have had unexplained weight loss i now weigh in at 115 ive lost about 20 pounds... my diet never changed and i rarely excercise???

Hello,
That is not normal, as you have mentioned. Generally, at age 13 you are not done growing in height. But, considering you have stayed around 5'2 you should also ask yourself if you are at a healthier weight.

Certainly I feel you should have a check up on your thyroid, some blood tests run by your doctor and perhaps a visit to a dietitian with a 3 day food diary where you have written down all food/portions exactly/ activity to see if you calorie intake is less than caloric needs.

You might want to be on a multivitamin, but I would await further testing and visit with your physician and dietitian before any interventions.
