What Causes Redness And Itchiness In Arm Where The Picc Line Was Removed?

I had a PICC line removed from my upper arm five days ago. Two days ago, the insertion site started to become red, itchy, and swollen. The area around the insertion point, about the size of a silver dollar, became hard. Now the redness, heat, itchiness, and little red bumps that have developed are spreading.
