What Causes Restricted Movement In Toe After Spiral Fracture?

I am a 17 year old boy from the UK. I received a spiral fracture in my lower tibia on the 15th October 2010. The fracture has now healed up, however, the toe is flaccid in dorsi-flexion, but solid upright in plantar-felxion. the surgeon who manipulated the break believes the muscle connecting my toe has died due to oxygen starvation. however, my physiotherapist believes that when the manipulation was taking place, the tendon or muscle or nerve was trapped/nipped in the bone. both will need therapy. which is most likely and how long will it take for rehabilitation after surgery as I plan to travel to Mallorca in late July. Any answers much appreciated
