What Causes Severe Joint Pain While On Levofloxacin?

I am on 500 mg of Levoflxacin for a period prescribed of 10 days for an acute sinus infection and abscesses in my teeth. I have developed severe joint pain, so I plan to discontinue usage (I have been 5 days using this antibiotic). What is the half- life of this antibiotic and when can I expect to have some relief from joint discomfort. Also, how long before I can feel safe resuming my usual exercise regime (swimming two miles a day) without fear of tendon rupture?

Hi,

It is not related to Levoflox.

If symptoms persist better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

As of now analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol can be taken.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
