What Causes Severe Pain After A Cervical Fusion Surgery?

Health Question section: - Severe Pain from Cervical fusion Surgery

Medical Question:
Past information: My pain management have me taking Norco 10/325 1 tablet every 4 -6 hours as needed for my chronic pain due to my serve Deteriorating Disc Disease and Facet Nerve Syndrome. So I have been on Norco for about 4 years for those reason.

Now main subject, "I just had a cervical fusion C5/C6 last Tuesday, less then a week ago. In 2005 I had one at the C6/C7 level. During the recent/current surgery (March, 10th 2011) on the fusion c5/c6 they found that the screws from the plate put in were actually factors and the bone graph never took.

I am not sure if this a ER emergency or if I just deal with the pain for the next 4 ½ days.
Due to weekend I can not get a hold of my Surgeon and I do not have my post-Op with him until next Wednesday. What shout I do. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN, the pain is given me sweats, hot flashes, irritable attitude to people and things and not being cautious with my hard neck brace I am wearing.

E.R. or not, and just deal with it.
