What Causes Soreness In Joints With Weakness?

i have hypothyroid and my joints are quite sore these days,
its as if they are going to be twisted,
fo example , today i was climbing the stairs and i tripped, dont know what exactly happend but its related to the ankle joint, i presume.
what can i do for treatment, i am already taking hypothroid tablets
