What Causes Sudden Stiffness In Body And Change In Vision?

My friend was participating in heavy activity, when suddenly he went limp, was unable to move except for his toes and fingers and slightly turn his head. He was able to speak, but sounded sleepy and confused. He said he couldn't get his body to do what he wanted. His vision was effected because he asked why a green dot on an electronic device was shaking. These effects lasted for several minutes and then he was fine. Perhaps an hour or two later, he got dizzy and went limp again. It was late and he went to sleep. The next morning he was fine. He had little sleep over the previous week and has been under much stress. Did my friend have a minor stroke? If so, is a bigger one coming? He is only 29.
