What Causes Swelling On The Right Side Of My Hand?

I'm in my mid 50's, female, 5'2, about 145lbs. I'm a computer tech. Was moving computers around in a lab when I noticed my left wrist was sore. I had a bruise on the inside right at the base of my hand with swelling and tenderness. Stopped to put some ice on it. Don't remember banging it to get the bruise, 2" long by about 1" wide. Still have full range of motion, just tender. A few days later, moving some more computers when I heard a small pop in my right wrist and had immediate swelling with the same kind of bruise as the left wrist. This one hurt more. I was sent to Corporate health. The Dr was positive I was banging around and just covered both up with Ace bandages. When I removed the bandage after work, the right wrist now has bleeding under the skin. Looks like some blood vessels were ruptured. There is a 1" horizontal line about an 1" down from the base of my palm. Did I tear something?
