What Causes Swollen Ear And Hearing Loss?

Hi, I have a preauricular sinus that has become infected. Along with this, I have an abcess in my tooth. I first went to the dentist (Wednesday) and they prescribed penicillin for the tooth. I took the penicillin and when I woke up the next morning, I felt like my ears needed to pop and my hearing is decreased. The next day I went to urgent care and they did nothing but refer my to an ENT specialist. My appointment is not until next Thursday. I suffered through Friday and woke up this morning and my ear was still extremely swollen (I could hear fluid swishing around in the helix), still experiencing hearing loss and still in pain from my tooth. I went to the ER and they lanced my ear (a lot of fluid drained) and switched me from penicillin to augmentin. I still can't hear and I am concerned.
