What Causes Tiredness And Red Spots In The Mouth?

Hi, my daughter is three years old and today she seemed very tired and I noticed a few canker sores and red spots in her mouth, she has red spots on her tounge and the top of her mouth as well as the back of her mouth. Will this go away in a few days and will I need specific medics to treat it?

Hi..
Thanks for the query.

Red spots all over inside mouth along with tiredness can be due to either canker sores or can also be due to viral infection causing fever blisters..

So first of all you should consult an Emergency room or a Paediatric dentist and get her evaluated so that if viral infection is suspected a blood test and oral swab culture can be done for confirmation..

You can be advised a course of antiviral medication like Acyclovir..
If there is pain in mouth, you can be advised application of Lidocaine gel over the sores to relieve pain..
Give her soft and bland foods and plenty of water..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
