I just realized that I have lost all underarm hair. I put my hands behind my head to stretch before I got into the shower and saw in the mirror that I had no underarm hair. This may have developed over the last 4-6 months, based on memories of a different feeling when I sweat. I recently saw my endocrinologist for follow-up on diabetes type II. I am on levothyroxine 200. I had been taking it once-a-day for six days and 1/2 on Sunday, but my tsh jumped up to 6, so I now take one daily. This change only came about a month ago. I also have bph and copd (no treatment required). Suggestions? Robert
Hi Robert, as i can see, you are suffering from a multitude of systemic illnesses and hair loss can be seen in chronic systemic conditions, chiefly, i would like to point on hypothyroidism..Since the levels arenot in normal range even after meds, this endocrine abnormality apppears to be the prime cause for your hair loss (not just ur underarms but also you may notice thinning of your scalp hair). My suggestion to you is to consult your endocrinologist for your thyroid disorder to get the levels in normal range ...Hair loss is reversible, once the disorder is managed properly. Thanks Take care
