What Could A Lump On Neck Below The Jaw?

I noticed a large lump on my neck, just below the jaw, below ear...about 1 inch left of my adam's apple. The lump is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches wide, no pain or discomfort aside from feeling it with my fingers. This appeared within the past 2-3 days. How long should I wait before consulting a doctor in person?

Hi,
From history it seems that there might be having enlarged sub mandibular lymph node producing lump.
This can be due to having some chronic infection in the mouth like cavity or decayed tooth.
Some chronic infection or impacted wax in ear also might give rise enlarged node.
If there is no pain or any problem, nothing to worry.
Ok and take care.
