What Could Cause Blood In Stool After A Injury On Lower Back?
I recently fell off a ladder from about 10 feet up. During the fall I hit my back on a stump then landed on a log. on my right lower back. I have experienced some pain which I assumed was just bruising. The next bowel movement I had contained blood. I feel fine other than the bruised feeling on my back. What could that be?
Blood in stool after a fall from height is a serious concern although you do not have many symptoms.
This is urgent, hence, I would advise you the following:
-Rush to ER -Do not take anything orally till your doctors advises -CT scan of abdomen -Tests of stool -Blood and urine -Intravenous fluids and antibiotics.
Further management may be conservative or surgical as per the development of symptoms and investigations.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant
