What Do Patches Of Skin Causing Burning Sensation On The Face And Body Indicate?

Periodically, over the last two weeks, i have notices patches of skin on my face, and other places, that feel as if they are burning (a skin irritation), when i wipe the area, it spreads the burning feeling. Also, if its near my mouth, it tastes spicy/acidic. The sensation goes away after a few moments and moves to another part of my skin. What could this be?

Hi,

The rash could be a miliaria or irritant contact dermatitis or insect bite hypersensitivity. Treatment varies for miliaria and dermatitis. If the skin is not dry, you could apply calamine lotion and take antihistamine tablet. If your rash worsens or if you have any other symptoms, do consult your dermatologist for further management.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
