Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

Normally the gestational sac grows progressively with the pregnancy and if it does not do so than the chances of this pregnancy being at danger is high.

Probably the gestational sac is not growing as it should for the weeks of the pregnancy and the doctor is trying to inject you something to reduce uterine contractions or something with progesterone to increase the chances of this pregnancy.

Sometimes the problem lays on the dating of the pregnancy which means you may think you are 7 weeks pregnant but actually you may be 5-6 weeks pregnant. That is why it is important to followup with ultrasound in two weeks to see how the pregnancy is developing.

A quick way to know if the pregnancy is healthy is having a BHCG blood test and repeat it in 2 days, normally it should double in 2 days or at least grow with 60%. If the BHCG does not grow with at least 60% in 2 days than very likely this pregnancy is not progressing normally.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj, MD
