What Does Chest Pain While Suffering From GERD Indicate?

Started having chest pain onTuesday but he of GERD. Still felt miserable on Friday and had episodes of sustained SVT that started at 9 AM. Went to ER at 6 PM. Discharged after 2 EKG s and Troponin of 0.05. Still feel uneasy several days later. Should I be worried about Troponin level of 0.05?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I have gone through the troponin report you have mentioned. This is absolutely normal report. No need to worry for any heart related diseases. Your chest pain is mostly due to GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). So better to follow these steps for better symptomatic relief in GERD.

1. Take Pantoprazole and Levosulpiride combination on empty stomach twice daily.
2. Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid junk food.
3. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
4. Go for walking after meals. Keep 2-3 pillows under head in bed to prevent reflux.
5. Quit smoking and alcohol if you have these habits.
6. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.

Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
