What Does My Semen Analysis Report With Volume=0.5ml Indicate?

Hi Dr. Today I have been advised to get Semen report. the observations are as per below.

Quantity-0.5 ml.

Microscopic Examination: 8.7mil/ml.

Motility is ok as per ref.

and sugar is positive.

Can you tell me that the report is ok or i need to go for some consultancy ?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of the semen analysis is as following:
The volume of semen is low.
The volume of semen per ejaculate should be atleast 2 ml.
The sperm concentration of 8.7 million per ml is low.
The sperm concentration should be atleast 20 million per ml.
40% sperms should have progressive motion.
However, you have not mentioned the % of sperms with progressive motion.
No mention is made about the morphology of the sperms.
Atleast 50% sperms should have normal morphology.

Thus, more details are required to assess a semen report.
Kindly, post all the parameters for better assessment.
