What Is The Remedy For The Yeast Infection Having Soreness In The Vagina?

hi, I was put on antibiotics (amoxicillian 500 mg. 2 times daily with agumentin for a sinus infection. I then developed a yeast infection, so a week later the doctor gave me a diflucan tablet to take. I took it on June 6th saw the doctor again on June 22--do not have yeast but i still have the redness and soreness, no discharge. She said to take another diflucan today, but if the test came back no yeast, why should I take another? Does my body just need time to "rest" from the antibiotic? I am 64 years old and take no hormones or anything.
