I just had blood work done and my fasting blood sugar level was 133. I am an African-American male, 62 years old, non-smoker, non-drinker and I subscribe to a vegetarian diet. My triglyceride level is at 173, my cholesterol level is 173 as well. My BMI is within normal range for my height. I have been experiencing a sharp, needle-like pain in my ankle area for the past 3 years and I have noticed that my blook sugar level has increased each year. Am I diabetic?
