What Is The Treatment For Shooting Upper And Lower Back Pain?

Hi there.. I've been getting phsyical therapy for upper and lower back issues. The shooting pain shoots down my right side of my upper buttocks, down the back side of my thigh and calf. The shooting pain isn't all the time, usually when I'm standing while working.. This morning the moment I tried to sit down, the shooting pain shot down my back of my leg(thigh) to the sole of my foot.

I've been trying to get an MRI, but my HMO Dr didn't even bother looking at my back. My physical therapist is going to try and order it for me. I've been experiencing "pinched nerve" and sciatica issues for 8 months. Do you think this is Sciatica or Piriformis Syndrome? I do pilates and all of my stretches regularly. Also, I discovered tightness in both legs and hips and a minor weakness feeling. There's a pea sized ball under my skin on my left leg on the side of my thigh. I'm assuming this is from the tightness? This is all so new to me, as I'm fit, active, and 31 years old. Any advice will be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
