Why Is Topiramate Prescribed?

i am 72.. good health. GOD has cared for me. i do have back problems . i have had surgery 4 time.on my back,, .. other than that , i do not get sick.. i work hard . my husband died nearly 4 years ago.. . i do all my owen work and live in the counrty.. i am telling you this. because i have pills that were given me .topiramate 100. i have not taken them. what are they for ?i thought i might ask befor i put them in the garbage.!!!
