A few hours ago I popped something behind my left knee while running across the street to my car. I ran because cars were approaching. But halfway across all of a sudden I felt an excrucitaing sharp pain and I almost fell. I made it to the car and when I sat in with my bent leg, I did not feel anything after that. When I got home and tried to get out of the car and I tried to stand up, the pain became so bad that I could only hop on my right leg to the door, and then crawled on all fours to the first armchair.
Right now I have a dull sensation of pain radiating all the way to the ankle and up to mid-thigh. I cannot straighten my left leg, or put any weight on it. I am relatively fine as long as the leg is bent. No signs of internal bleeding, but the whole leg is getting slightly swollen. There is a tender spot under the knee, in the outer corner of the bend.
The knee itself is fine, I can swing my lower leg around, do rotations. I presume it cannot be a major tear. But I would like to know if there is anything that could be done and what to expect, how long will it take to heal: minimum and maximum approximation...
