A Few Months Ago I Went Up For A Block

A few months ago I went up for a block in volleyball, came down and heard a huge pop in left knee. No pain. After a day or two it started to swell and hurt going down stairs then turned into pain all the time. I managed with ibuprofen, rest, ice, etc... 9,days ago, in the ocean I got hit by a wave just as I was stepping with the same leg I to a drop off. Had the same pop but no pain. The next morning, it was swollen in the knee all down my leg into my ankle. As the day wore on the pain and swelling got worse and xrays were taken and Were negative. An MRI was needed and I was to follow up with my doctor when I got home which I did. My insurance is fighting the MRI and I can't get an appointment with the ortho until 6/16. In the meantime, I still have a ton of swelling, pain, unable to bear weight, and inability to straighten my leg and it sometimes feels like it gets frozen. What should I do if I can't get the MRI and see the doctor for more than a month? I am 37 yr old female who coaches volleyball, basketball, and softball and still plays volleyball competitively. Otherwise healthy
