A Visting Friend (male, 78 Yrs Old) Fell Ill And

A visting friend (male, 78 yrs old) fell ill and we took him to the emergency room at our local hospital yesterday. He had facial pain and numbness around his left cheek and nose area. After a cat scan (head area) blood test, urinalysis, it was determined he had acute bacterial rhino sinusitis. He was given antibiotics and saline via IV while there, and sent home with Amoxicllin. This morning he had a little bit of blurred vision (it is gone now) and currently is a bit chilled. The facial symptoms are still there. When should we see some relief from the antibiotics? It's been about 24 hrs. These new symptoms are a bit troubling, as are the lack of change to the original symptoms. Pls advise
