Can you tell me if smoking before you have your blood pressure taken lowers I or makes the reading higher?
I have always had really low BP like 80- 95 / 50-65 and over the last few weeks it has slowly risen to 174/105 and even when I took it as soon as I woke up it was 169/102 and then I spent the morning running around town paying accounts and when my Dr took it I was 174/105.
I have MCTD (Scleroderma, SLE, Sjorgrens, Raynauds Phen, Epilepsy, can't think of the name but another is when the sheafs around the nerves gradually disappear (probably bad description), R Arthritis and Vasculitis and a few other annoying things.
I do get headaches.
My email address is for real -thank you and yes I do know smoking is the last thing I should be doing and am in the process of giving up - I have halved it in the last month and am now down to 10 a day. I do not drink and eat healthily and exercise not much due to pain but do try to walk as much as I am able. I am 163cm (5ft 3ins) and weigh 44kg (97lbs). This is not due to dieting this is normal for me. My gut is very much affected by my Scleroderma and quite often rely on Resource drinks.
Hope this info was helpful, as you can see I have enough to contend with wihout more problems but have not complains - I am lucky compared to alot of other people and I am not stressed out with worry. I do not work and am 56 and was diagnosed at the age of 24.
Do you have any insight as to what might be going on with things?
