My son takes Rapamune and has CVS. He had a kidney transplant in 2002. The CVS has gotten out of control the last year with numerous repeated episodes. Every 2-4 weeks in the ER with SEVERE stomach pain, nausea and vomiting. It is getting more and more difficult for treatment as so many ER's really don't know what to do to treat it. I am wondering if the Rapamune could be the cause and because he continues to use it if it could be continually making the CVS worse and worse. He is very hesitant to change the Rapamune as his kidney has favored very well through all of this. He has a real fear of rejecting his kidney and having to deal with that again. Along with the CVS he has peripheral neuropathy, syncope, type 2 heart block, blood pressure issues, severe weight loss etc. What we need is a doctor who can look at his whole picture which I know is very compicated, but someone who cares enough to help him. We live in northern Ohio. If anyone knows of a doctor or specialist that would fit this I would really appreciate you forwarding the information as my fear is one of these times it is just going to be to much for him. PLEASE any advise is appreciated.
