Could Weakness Be Due To Hernia Mesh Coming In Contact With Femoral Nerve?

Dec. of 2007: Hernia repair, left side. Pain experienced in left quad beginning in recovery room immediately following surgery. It continued for quite a while. I’ve been experiencing a weaker and weaker feeling over the last few years (especially over the last 16 or so months); there was some occasional tingling moving down the leg initially, but very little presently. The feeling of weakness is worse when rising from bed A.M.. Additionally, the “weakness” varies daily…mild, more extreme, hardly detectable. A surgeon suspected (back in 2007) that the hernia repair mesh (or scar tissue) was making contact with the femoral nerve and causing the weakness. Another doctor disagreed. could the procedure and/or the mesh have possibly caused this problem?
