Dear Doctor,

I am 59 year old male and suffering from hearing loss for the past few years for Left ear (hearing of about 40%) and now during Oct 2015 my Right ear got the similar problem of hearing loss. In Oct 2015 one fine morning after I got from the bed, I noticed that I could not hear any sound.

Immediately I went to a ENT surgeon and he suggested me to go for Audiogram and I got it done. The finding was that my left ear had 40% and right ear 50% hearing. Doctor then prescribed steroid for a period of 10 days and again extended for another 1 week. Later advised to go for second round of Adiogram. This time there was marginal improvement of both the ears - Left 50% and right 60%. Then the doctor tapered the steroid for another 3 weeks and stopped. When I asked the doctor about the problem, he said it is due to nerves weakness and there is no English medicine for strengthening nerves. However suggested that using hearing aid could be an alternative.

The hearing was improved from this treatment marginally.
However, recently 4 days back I was traveling in train overnight from Bangalore to Chennai and suddenly in the morning while getting down in Chennai station, I noticed similar problem of LOSS OF HEARING, more with right ear (almost NIL hearing).

I was also having throat infection, cold and cough this time. The throat infection, cold and cough has reduced now and I see some improvement in hearing. However I am unable to hear clearly and can not attend phone calls.

I heard that there is remedy for this type of problem in Ayurveda and hence seeking your advice.
