My husband was diagnosed with pericarditis probably stemming from a sinus infection a couple of weeks ago. He went to the doctor with neck and shoulder pain, EKG was abnormal so went to the ER. Blood tests were normal, Echocardiogram showed a little bit of fluid but not very much. One dose of Ibuprofen and steroid and pain was gone not to come back. Released and told to limit activities, no strenuous activities, he can work as he works from home. We planned a trip to the mountains in a few days and have heard that the high altitude may affect his pericarditis. Is this true, what does it do?
