For The Past One Week, My Husband Has Been Using

For the past one week, my husband has been using Lidocaine patches on his feet for diabetic neuropathy - this was prescribed by his doctor. He also takes Norco for back pain, but he stopped taking the Norco because of the way he was feeling. He puts the patches on his feet every day, 12 hours on and 12 hours on; they really do help with his foot pain. Since using the patches, he is complaining of severe pain in his shin bone area and upper legs, is nauseated and throws up, and he is now complaining of blurred vision. He is still trying to work. He is going to cut back on using the patches twice a week. Should he stop using the patches entirely, based on these symptoms?
