Good morning, I recently went to emergency as a precaution due to moderate chest pain in the center area of the chest as well as some numbness in the left arm. Upon being examined, my vitals were normal, the EKG was normal as well but my Troponin level was slightly elevated. During the first test, Troponin was at 30 and I was told the normal range is from 14 to 17.
After a 3 hour wait, another blood test was taken and the Troponin was down to 23. From there another EKG test was performed which came back normal and then a stress test which was perfectly normal too.
I was prescribed medication for acid reflux and told to follow-up with my family doctor.
My question is, should I be overly concerned with the elevated Troponin ?
