Have A History Of Thyroid Issues, Nodules, And Symptoms. The

Have a history of thyroid issues, nodules, and symptoms. The most obvious symptom was unexplained weight gain. I went from 112 to 152 lbs in just over 2 months. No change in diet. My normal weight all my life was between 102 and 112 . Never over that. Loss of hair etc....my sister and niece have Hashimoto's . I went to at least 2 endocrinologists and of course my internal medicine doctor. My weight at that time was 152!
Since my thyroid levels were "within the range" no one would do anything to help. Most of the time I heard "well, you know as you get older, your metabolism slows down" I was 57 y/o.
My family physician prescribed a small dose of thyroxine .25 mcg. I was back to my normal weight in just over a month and felt better.
Now the same thing is happening now...i live in Florida now and same symptoms and my weight is now up to 136 and rising!. It is all carried in my stomach...no change in diet, in fact I eat a very small amount in a day....that has always been my diet.
Once again my levels are," within the normal limits!!!!
I don't understand Why, if I am displaying multiple symptoms, I get NO help from doctors!!!
I am very uncomfortable and frustrated.. To say the least!.
How do I get a doctor to listen to me and not dismiss me???????
