Hello Doctor,
Over the past 4 months or so, I have noticed a particular something strange in my everyday behavior. I'll give you some examples, which may be the easiest way for me to explain. If I shut the fridge door, I will push on the door a lot. I mean, I could just spend 10 minutes standing there, pushing on the door in all sorts of different ways. I mean, I'm smart enough to know that the door is shut, but it's difficult to stop myself from doing this and constantly coming back to check. Another example: if I turn off a light switch, I will usually stand there, rubbing on the light switch. I am telling myself that I'm trying to "make sure that there is no water on the switch." I really don't know why. This same sort of need to check things constantly applies to water faucets, zippers, doors, locks, caps on milk, etc. This behavior is a real nuisance to myself. I don't why I do this. I am only 15 years old, and I don't have any real problems.
