Hello, Dr. Rynne, My Son (24) Was Seen In The

Hello, Dr. Rynne,
My son (24) was seen in the ER yesterday for a painful & swollen finger (no open area) that was not relieved by hot soaks. He was told it was cellulitis -possibly from a nick from a fresh water (ice fishing) hook, though he is not too careful with his hands, so it could be anything. As a precaution, an x-ray was done -no foreign object in finger. For over 24 hours, he has had Tramadol, 1 50 mg tab. every 6 hours for pain (which has not lessened).
He also has had, after an initial dose in the ER, Keflex 500mg 4 x day. He says he has had little or no improvement, has a loss of appetite, and no pain relief. Have you any suggestions?
Thank you
