Hello, I Develop Ongoing Cysts In My Earlobes That Come

Hello, I develop ongoing cysts in my earlobes that come and go. They feel like small 2mm balls/lumps. When they start, my ear gets hot and they are painful to the touch. I usually put some hydrocortisone or tea tree oil and in a day or two it stops being red and hurting. They are not visible and do not have any discharge, other than occasional redness. They last anywhere from a week to a month +, and I now have my forth one within a 3 month period, which is a lot more than I am used to. What can this be and how serious is this? What is the best way to treat it? Thank you so much for your help.
