Hello, I Have Been Having Problems For Several Months That

Hello,
I have been having problems for several months that don't seem to be improving and I would like your opinion. I had pneumonia and the flu November through mid-Decemer, so I was prescribed some antibiotics, which at the time I didn't know could be a problem. There is a history of Crohn's and colitis in my family. I have had issues for a long time myself, although previously never diagnosed. In February I first noticed small amounts of diarrhea and mucus a few times a day and in late March it became more frequent, occasionally with large amounts of blood in the toilet. I went for a colonoscopy with a surgeon and he noticed immediate inflammation for a small area (28 cm according to the report) and diagnosed ulcerative colitis. Then a follow-up flex sigmoidoscopy 2 weeks later found that it was inflamed too far for the scope. Mezavant and Cortifoam did nothing but aggravate my issues (more blood and pain). Even a restrictive diet & starting prednisone now have not yet helped.
