Hello,
I have been taking Tegretol for 28 years for nocturnal grand mal seizures. I take (3) 200mg tablets prescribed by my doctor all at once before bedtime. This was decided by my doctor because taking them throughout the day (breakfast, lunch, etc) made me sleepy while trying to perform my job. My question and concern is whether or not Tegretol plays a role in keeping chronic yeast infections and creating low iron deficiencies (anemia) even though I take iron each day. I have not found anything that has worked for the yeast infections because they seem to interact with the Tegretol. My doctors have prescribed many different suppositories that have not worked but made things worse . Monistat OTC helps to relieve the symptoms but within a few weeks I'm starting over again. I always use the 7 day vaginal treatments and wear cotton, unscented sanitary napkins, use condoms, etc. I could never use birth control because of the reaction with the Tegretol. If there are any up to date informational articles on Tegretol concerning yeast infections and iron deficiencies I would really appreciate the links to learn more.
