Hello. I was diagnosed with shingles about one month ago. It cleared up after about a week, and I had no further problems. My partner, however, developed a rash about 4 days ago, and today went to a clinic and was also diagnosed with shingles. My outbreak was on my back, under my shoulder blade. His is on the side of his hip, to the left of his groin. We both had chickenpox as children. I am wondering if it is a coincidence that he contracted shingles so soon after I did, or if there is any chance that I passed the shingles on to him (although everything I read says they aren't contagious to people who have had chickenpox), or whether his shingles may actually be misdiagnosed herpes?
