Hello, My mother is 89 and gets around pretty well, but she has lost weight in the last few years, after a pace-maker installation a few years back and more recently ahe was hospitalized with a bowel obstruction which was handled without surgery. I have her on a prepared food and 30g protein drink diet for almost a 8 months, but still does not gain weight; I believe it is because she will not eat enought food, she eats breakfast and would prefer to eat only 1 other meal around 2-3 pm and maybe desert later. I try to get in 3 meals a day and snacks but it rarely works. She is just not hungry. I was just advised to try the Threptin biscuts to increase appetite, but all Q & A on this page and others seem to focus on Threptin as a weight loss food. Can you explain?
