Hello,
My name is Valdeen Childs and I am presenting with the symptoms of Autoimmune Hepatitis. I have a severely compromised immune system (Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Encephalitis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Lyme's Disease, Benign Brain Tumor, History of EBV, and Mold Toxicity). My liver enzymes have been elevated and rapidly increasing. My neurologist suggested that I may have Autoimmune Hepatitis but the doctors in my area do not know how to diagnose or treat it (small town). I have a referral for out of town but I need to know if this is somewhat of an emergency. I have a rash on my stomach that began two days ago and is now spreading all over. My abdomen is is distended and tender. I have been a nurse for 37 years, but disabled after the first tick bite that carried the diseases listed above into my body. I know it is critical to treat this early - especially being an immunocompromised patient....but my biggest question is whether this is something that I need to be proactive and aggressively seeking treatment for. I know I will not qualify for a liver transplant if the disease progresses- so my only option is early treatment. My family is worried that if we dont get it officially caught and treated immediately that we will lose the window. I just need to know if this is worth driving 5 hours tomorrow for or if we can wait a week or two? I don't know what the window is to avoid missing it.
Thank you!
