Hi,

A few days ago I noticed redness on the end of my penis/glans. It doesn't itch, tingle, feel sore, or have any sensation at all — even if I touch it. If I shower it goes redder (as seen in a photo) but still doesn't feel of anything.

I'm concerned it might be herpes because I was given oral sex by a woman who had an outbreak of coldsores a few days later. This was about five weeks ago. To my knowledge she had no STIs. Although we had protected vaginal sex, we also had unprotected anal sex.

I intend to try to get a GUM clinic appointment but I don't know how quickly I'll be seen (possibly not in time for it to clear up) and unsurprisingly it's causing concern for me. I've seen some literature say herpes always itches or feels sore, yet other literature say there can be no indications at all.

I guess my main question is does this look like herpes, or something else? Thank you for any advice given.
