Hi Doc,
My symptom is that I just had a hard time swallowing. I had been sleeping for about 6 hrs. Prior to that I had been eating a soup of peas, rice, lentils with a little bit of shredded cheese which had been put in a blender.
I got up and took my medication (anti-biotic tab) and swallowed it with no problem. I ate three tablespoons of long grain brown rice and followed by some sips of water mixed with lime juice and Apple Cider Vinegar. Suddenly, I could not swallow. I felt like the food was stuck in my esophagus and it would not go down. I was standing up this entire time.
I started to massage my esophagus and finally (about 10 mins) it slowly dissipated. I can now drink without any problem.
This episode has happened to me several times over the past 6-8 months.
I am 73 yrs. old, obese (6’ – 255#’s), type 2 diabetic, sedentary (have infected big toe), high blood pressure, all controlled by meds. I do not drink or smoke, however I am a food-a-holic and sometimes eat constantly.
What is your best guess about what is going on?
Thank you for your help.
