Hi Dr. Rynne, I am a 53 year old woman. Eight days ago I began feeling these symptoms: Dry heaves, excessive belching, and a lack of appetite. Symptoms are worse in the morning. I am concerned because the symptoms have persisted now for more than a week. I am eating despite the lack of appetite, and have been, for four months, following the Weight Watcher's diet program; I began in August weighing 182, and today I weigh 165. (I am 5' 1"). My diet includes no processed foods, lots of fruits and vegetables and fruit juices, lots of non-fat dairy products, high fiber wheat bread, oatmeal, pasta, olive oil, eggs, tea, low fat popcorn, 93 % fat free beef and pork, roasted chicken and turkey, baked potatoes, and baked salmon. I only deviate from this food plan slightly and very infrequently. This food plan is helping me lose weight, but I don't know if it is related to the gastro-intestinal symptoms I have experienced for the past eight days. What do you think I should do next to find out what is causing this?
Thank you -
