Hi. How long can I take ursodeoxycholic acid/ I had a severe reaction to metamizol and clyndamiacin which affected my liver, pancreas, spleen (which is enlarged from a motorcycle accident thirty years ago). The doctor's first diagnosis was liver cancer, based on enzyme readings and the ultrasound. A few weeks later, I had further tests that were all normal and the liver, pancreas had returned to their proper size while the spleen remained slightly larger than normal (but smaller than it had been on previous ultrasounds). Based on the cancer diagnosis, he prescribed ursodeoxycholic acid. I have been taking it for three years. I have not been referred back to the gastroenterologist, but my family doctor just keeps writing the prescription. I am 76, male, in good shape, I am not overweight, don't drink or smoke, meditate twice daily, eat mostly vegan or vegetarian meals, I work out daily, walk daily and enjoy traveling, so I think that I am fit and active and healthy. I take Finesterida and Tamsolusina as well as folic acid. I have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Asthma but have not been needing any medication for these for the last few years. I would like to not be taking any medication at all. Can you please advise me? Thank you for your time.
