Hi, I Am 65, And In Fairly Good Health; Exercise

Hi, I am 65, and in fairly good health; exercise regularly, and eat right except during this holiday season, gained 5 lbs this month! Recently had cataract surgery in both eyes, and had a good outcome. Shortly afterward, I've been experiencing very strange sensation re my eyes, which I think might be caused from too much sugar and salt; can't describe it. Because it's holiday time, I am unusually stressed......so between the extra sugar, salt, and stress, could I be a target for Hypertensive Retinopathy? If so, what do I do---besides the obvious?
